Return to Monterrey
My first trip to Monterrey since January 2008 felt peaceful and pleasant, though cartel-related violence is certainly real and people are concerned. I needn't have worried about coming here on business but I sure wouldn't spend a weekend here, or roam around the city. Not that it was ever charming or pedestrian-friendly. I ate very well, really got my spicy food fix!! I'm back in Mexico City, an oasis of color and energy, and today will be the first day in four I won't get on a plane..this entry's permalink
