Call Of The Undertow
I end this quiet and frosty three-day weekend with the brooding, memorable 'Undertow' by LA-based experimental art-rock Warpaint. This all-female group was formed on Valentine's Day 2004 by four childhood friends and took a few years to gain traction and record songs, finally breaking through late last year with 'The Fool,' their much-admired debut.
Piquant as an anchovy, but more downbeat and subtle, this group's music just creeps up on you...
