A Franco-American moment for your post-holiday musical pleasure. It's 'Heaven Can Wait,' the lead-off single from the 'IRM' collaboration between American music visionary and pop-collage genius Beck and French actor/singer/songwriter Charlotte Gainsburg. This song's folksy funky shuffle and surreal gait are, well, very Beck...
She is, of course, the daughter of French songwriter-poet-enfant terrible Serge Gainsbourg and UK actress-model Jane Birkin; in the late 1960s these two recorded the notoriously orgasmic 'Je T'Aime (Moi Non Plus)' that inspired, among other things, Donna Summer's 'Love to Love You Baby.''
