South By Southeast - Ljubljana's Alpine Perch
We close our Balkan Film Festival in the Alps... JP had left to resume work, the tour was over, but I soldiered on to ex-Yugoslavia's northern capitals, Croatia's Zagreb and Slovenia's Ljubljana. Here's a panoramic view of Ljubljana from its castle tower, at sunset. Tiny Slovenia was always more Alpine than Balkan, and it's the first of the ex-Yugoslavian republics to join the EU. Unlike New York State, Slovenia has civil unions for same-sex couples... Hint, hint, Albany....
