Ready, Aim, Sing!
Last night I grabbed a bite and caught a concert with my youngest friend, John Wiske. We saw UK rock quartet The Rifles at Mercury Lounge, a 250-person venue the size of a bar, and stood literally 10 feet from the band, who looked and acted like four straightforward, pleasant twentysomethings enjoying being a band. The Rifles offer tight structure, muscular guitar, and catchy choruses (drowned live by the guitars, but delightful in the studio). Here's a sample, their video for 'Repeat Offender.'
