The Food Journey: Chez Kevin & Stephen
Up in Pound Ridge, NY, a stone's throw from Connecticut, live Kevin & Stephen, a charming couple I've had the pleasure of knowing for almost 12 years. Their lovely and hospitable home has seen many memorable meals, and last month Kevin & Stephen invited me & JP, and Bart & Ashley, to dinner. A hearty and pungent eggplant soup led off, with a dollop of cream in the center begging to spread its creamy texture...

The house, the table settings, and circle of circles of red soup with white circles..

The piece de resistance: lamb ragout served over noodles...

Bart & Ashley met us at the Bronxville train station near their home in Mt. Vernon and drove us the 30.2 miles, 43 minute way to Pound Ridge..

The aforementioned noodles, transformed into something special by love, pepper, and fine china...

Masters at work - the dinner's puzzle pieces come together....

I don't have a sweet tooth, but how could I resist a slice of apple pie with marzipan and glazed almonds, set off by raspberries and blackberries, I ask you?

Kevin and Stephen are the lucky caretakers of Bailey, an extremely sweet Canine-American... Here Bailey enjoys JP's attention..
