Hard To Pin Down, Easy To Love
That would be Chairlift, the band formed at University of Colorado that settled in Brooklyn, Williamsburg to be precise. 'Bruises,' their signature song, is indie-pop that draws from new wave and electronica, but the vocal drives the song, and lyrics are sharp and subtlely poignant... And inventive! Amid the electronic keyboard whirr and bass guitar thump, you can also hear tambourines in there.Chairlift is two guys and a girl, and one of the former is named Aaron (I love that!). Aaron Pfenning , the heart of this combo, shares vocals and song-writing duties with Caroline Polachek, while Patrick Wimberly adds drums, bass guitar, keyboard, and production.
