Batman & Robin As Lovers
In 2005 Mark Chamberlain exhibited homoerotic watercolor paintings of Batman and Robin, and they were exhibited at a Chelsea Gallery, Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts at 508 W 26th.
DC Comics promptly blew a gasket, and put legal pressure on Cullen and Web site Artnet for exhibiting watercolors depicting Batman and Robin in semi-nude, nude and homoerotic poses. They threatened legal action unless Cullen stopped the exhibit and handed over all unsold work.
