Halloween pictures below, but first, Song of the Week...

You Don't Know Jack?

This is a shame... Get to know Jack! Jack White (far left) is among this decade's most intriguing and unusual talents.

As if it weren't enough to be the lead singer/guitarist/mastermind of the universally acclaimed duo White Stripes (think of Led Zeppelin goes to art school and keeps the blues while losing the excess...)....

White Stripes may be eclipsed by White's side project, Raconteurs, where, armed with a superior partner/vocalist, he takes a more 60s-blues/pop/rock-pastiche approach and hits the bullseye...

This week's Song/Video of the Week is Raconteurs' 'You Don't Understand Me,' which enhances the Zeppelin downbeat blues with a tight pop structure and an acoustic-piano-led arrangement - it's 1971, but with 2008 digital clarity. A real, hard-to-resist gem... Here Raconteurs kick it live - and acoustic - with 'Many Shades of Black!

Here's the Raconteurs debut single from 2006, the haunting, off-putting, but catchy take on settling down called 'Steady As She Goes'

Finally, the Song of the Week, 'You Don't Understand Me,' live at New York's Terminal 5...

And a snippet of White Stripes - the song that put the 'stijlists' on the musical map - the classic garage rave-up that is 'Fell In Love With A Girl,' and indelible one minute and 53 seconds...
