Data Loss Poetry; Jay-Sitting

In early 1998, Salon.com published the results of a haiku contest on the topic of computer error messages.

The winning verses (senryu to be precise) were:

Three things are certain:
Death, taxes, and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.
— That one guy David Dixon

Everything is gone;
Your life's work has been destroyed.
Squeeze trigger (yes/no)?

— David Carlson

Surprise surprise...

I spotted singer/songwriter Jay Brannan Sunday morning sitting on the sidewalk outside my local Starbucks.

Tonight was his Highline Ballroom concert.

I talked to him a bit, but was too caffeine-deprived and/or starstruck to be coherent :-)
