Lucky In Love
Interesting night, was invited by Kevin & Stephen (yesterday's birthday boy, see post) to the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force Leadership Awards at the Grand Hyatt on 42nd & Lexington. It was very moving and cathartic, with a real sense of community, everyone all dressed up their Sunday best. Comedian Kate Clinton was as arch as always. There was a silent auction and I won two pairs of theater tickets (to any play of two different production companies in the next year). I also gave a special gift to an outreach hotline for young gays in trouble. The whole thing was very inspirational, the NGLTF people are wonderful. When I made my gift, I said to the microphone that 'it's great that every day is getting better for us...'
