That's Happy New Year in Arabic!
Below are some photos from the Arab quarter of Jersualem. Tomorrow marks the end of a long break, I fly home and resume work on Wednesday.
This house sign indicates that the dweller has completed a Haj, a pilgrimage to Mecca.
I think this is just a poultry shop.
Through the Arab and Christian quarters winds the Via Dolorosa, the steps Christians believe that Jesus traveled from his judgment to his crucifixion. Here's a trilingual signpost:
