The Sting, In Spanish, On Speed
"Nine Queens" is an enormously entertaining Argentine film about two con men, one jaded and one wet behind the ears. This film is written, acted, and directed with astonishing insight and precision, and offers more twists than the Mississippi, this movie is puzzles within puzzles and swindles within scams. Since this was filmed in the wake of Argentina's complete financial and political collapse in early 2002, one can also see a subtle comment on the endemic corruption of Argentina's political class and the slippery behavior and tactics often required of decent citizens to survive financially.
