South By Southeast - Kotor: City, Fortress, Fjord
Montenegro, like Croatia, has a breathtaking coastline, kissed by geography and climate, etched by history and architecture. Kotor is a well-preserved Italianate medieval walled city, nestled in a fjord, protected by miles of fortress walls built into the mountain. It's a UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site. We went sea kayaking and swimming in the fjord waters and tasted what paradise must feel like...
