The Food Journey: Angelica's Kitchen
Angelica's Kitchen puts the delicious, and the economical, back into organic vegan cuisine. JP & I had a lovely pre-concert meal there Friday night before FischerSpooner... I had a 'Dragon Bowl' with Tempeh, Sea Vegetables (see below!)
, Steamed Vegetables (carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and kale), and Three Grains.. with a light coating of Black Sesame Dressing with a hint of wasabi...
JP went with the Quiche, featuring tofu cheese... This lovely eatery is at 300 East 12th St, in between 1st and 2nd avenues. Check out their website.
Now that's my man! Doesn't JP look terrific in this black and white flower power shirt, with the pink tee subtly sticking out?
JP had side orders of Tempeh (how I love its texture) and two Sea Vegetables: 1) arame (AH-rah-may), a dark brown thin, thread-like veggie with a mild, swee taste rich in iron, calcium, and iodine; and 2) hijiki, also dark brown, like thin black spaghetti, extremely mineral-rich and with a strong ocean flavor...
