I'm off to Arizona for a few days with my family!

Where Have All The Flowers Come From?

What's up with the flower power taxicabs in New York, you may ask, as more than 2,500 cabs now have flower-covered hoods and rooves, including one I photographed two weeks ago.

"Garden In Transit" is a non-profit project to place unique art on cabs to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the metered, motorized New York City tax. Read this
New York Sun article. The artists are Ed and Bernie Massey, pictured here, whose "assembly line" is a holding lot at JFK.

What's in it for the cabbies? a one-time pass to jump the taxi line at the airport, and some air fresheners and toy taxis. When will they ever learn? When will they eeeeevvvvvver leeeeearrn?.
