The Food Journey, Part 1

Today I got up at 4:30am in the #$%@#$?! morning for a business day-trip to #$%@#$?! Atlanta

Snacks, drinks, and mealtimes were a relaxing, congenial delight for the entire trip - we ate, we drank, we were merry. And my camera was there to record it...

As was Joe's. He's a serious photographer, and his unique take on out trip can be viewed here.

Amazing Czech-style pancakes with chocolate, raisins, cinnamon, nuts, and ice cream.. No cherry, though - I was on a diet. : - )

Apfrelstrudel (Apple Strudel) was omnipresent and tasty, but nothing beats the warmth of a good old freshly-baked American apple pie... Still, the Eastern Europeans have an amazing sweet tooth...

Gelato was everywhere...

Our last night in Prague, we took a brief from local cuisine and went to an Afghan restaurant. I had a curry of lamb and vegetables with basamati rice...

Joe from Vancouver had this creamy and savory concoction. Joe is fond of bacon and cheese.

Berry colorful fruit arrangements at Prague's open-air food market...

Fried boneless chicken topped with pineapple and cheese. This mix of tastes is counter-intuitive, in my opinion. : - )

A taste square of fresh fish braised in butter....

But fish was served whole in most places....

Where's a boy to pee, I ask you....

Delicious pork in balsamic honey reduction, potato croquettes, three cabbage salad, and wine, at lunch, in Poland, before our visit to Auschwitz....

That Polish restaurant was all ready for us since we ordered an hour earlier, from our minibus, via cel phone, from a Polish-only menu, with help from tour leader Nika, our Polish driver, and my handy phrasebook...

Engrish: I'll bet they can...
