Where Chickens Run Free
Near La Fortuna, Costa Rica, Erik and I took a very calm raft ride down a tranquil river one cloudy morning
That ride's real highlight was a visit to the forest-dwelling extended family of our guide (pictured left below, with Erik). He invited us to dock and join him there for a snack.
His family is clearly used to entertaining tourists...
You haven't escaped civilization until you encounter free-roaming poultry...
Home-fried bananas tasted soooo good on after a ride on the river... That wasn't the last I'd see of bananas on the trip...
